据美联社（The Associated Press）8月27日报道，美国地区法官罗德里格斯（Fernando Rodriguez Jr.）前一日表示，他无法阻止县警长释放卡斯特罗，亦无法命令德州州长阿博特（Greg Abbott）签署引渡令。卡斯特罗被控1月14日隔门向明尼阿波利斯一间住宅开枪，击伤24岁男子索萨-塞利斯（Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis），并虚假指控对方袭警。
