德州圣安东尼奥暴雨成灾，酿成至少11人死亡、 6人失踪，另外多辆汽车被水冲走。有民众表示，丈夫开车上班时突遇洪水，她在电话中听着丈夫身处险境，接着再也没有收到消息。

综合NBC及《San Antonio Report》报道，圣安东尼奥的贝特尔溪（Beitel Creek）是重灾区，消防抵达时发现有人紧抓木头在水中载浮载沉，也有10人逃到树上躲避，这批民众获救后，其中4人需要送院。调查同时发现，区内至少15辆汽车被冲走。这次洪水在12日清晨5时左右出现，民众理查兹（Angela Richards）表示，当时丈夫正开车上班，打电话表示车辆已经抛锚，正随水流飘向河沟，电话中也传来撞击的声音。理查兹形容，最后听见的是洪水淹进车厢的声音，现在丈夫下落不明，相信汽车被淹时无法逃生。

圣安东尼奥警务处长麦克曼努斯（William McManus）表示，事发地点地形特殊，民众驾车时遇到水位颇深、水流甚快的情况时，基本上只能听天由命，警方呼吁全身而退的人与当局联系，让官方可以准确点算失踪或伤亡数字。麦克曼努斯补充说，部门也在贝特尔溪等多处地方发现遗体。

消防官员则称，部分尸体来自游民聚居地，当局已经派出搜救犬扩大寻找范围，并要求德州农工大学（Texas A&M）协助，派遣40名受过严格训练的搜救专家行动。
